Press Release
Los Angeles, CA, January 20, 2016 - The Los Angeles Dumbledore’s Army, the second largest Harry Potter fan group in the world, is teaming up with Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale, CA once again for the 5th Annual Harry Potter Roller Skating Night, an epic and unforgettable evening for Harry Potter fans of all ages.

The skating rink, located at 5110 San Fernando Road in Glendale, CA, has reserved the entire evening of Saturday, April 16th, 2016 from 8 pm to 11 pm for Potter fans and the general geek community, to come enjoy a Harry Potter themed night of fun and frivolity. In addition to roller skating, vendors selling Harry Potter themed candy, accessories and jewelry will be spread out within the rink. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed to magically impress, as there will be a costume contest for both children and adults. This is a family friendly, public event suitable for all ages. Butterbeer (non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase for Muggles and Wizards alike. To celebrate the life of the late Alan Rickman, the actor who played Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies, there will be ceremonial “raising of the wands” during this year’s Harry Potter Roller Skating Night in memory of him. Admittance is only $9.75 to observe or participate with your own skates or $14.75 to participate with a rental pair of skates.

Time after time, event after event, The Los Angeles Dumbledore’s Army has proven its magical ability to throw a crowd pleasing unforgettable night for all. Last year, the fourth annual Harry Potter Roller Skating Night drew over 900+ Harry Potter fans of all ages and the group is looking forward to breaking last year’s attendance records. It’s high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the ‘Dementor’ layout), the polls (I actually voted in the ‘Who’s the Half-Blood Prince?’ one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)… pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you.
