The Dangers of Half-Breeds

by Madison Ford · April 1, 2016

The hazards presented by subhuman creatures are so great that they cannot be overstated. Of particular concern are the risks posed by part-human creatures since their human elements may lead witches and wizards to believe they are trustworthy.

Make no mistake – any bit of beastly blood is enough to contaminate the temperament of a witch or wizard from an otherwise pure line. Beast or being, all non-humans are dangerous, and there may be a day not so far from now where the law will recognize non-human beings as the beasts they truly are.

Werewolves

When the moon is full, these diseased mongrels transfigure into their true forms. The werewolf’s only desire is to infect other witches and wizards, especially children. Werewolves are required by law to report their illness to the Werewolf Register, maintained by the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, but hundreds of werewolves roam the streets unregistered. If your neighbors are disappearing mysteriously near the full moon, please report them to the Werewolf Registry immediately.

Half-giants

If you attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during your youth, it’s very possible you’re already familiar with the incoherent grumbling of a half-giant. The brainpower of half-breeds produced by the union of a giant and a human is rather limited. Naturally violent and reckless, half-giants are already a danger to everyone around them, and their stupidity intensifies this risk. Don’t let these oafish half-wits endanger your community. Call them out for the monsters they are! If the message gets through their thick skulls, they’ll go back to the wilderness where they belong.

Centaurs

Don’t make the mistake of romanticizing the mysterious divinations of the centaurs. These are haphazard horoscopes stemming solely from the feral affairs of primitive psychopaths. Centaurs seek answers in the stars to justify their natural violent tendencies. We must push them out of our world to make nature safe again. Until the Ministry has the power to isolate them from wizarding territory entirely, please don’t wander too deep into the forest.

Merpeople

Witches and wizards rarely find themselves at the mercy of these watery humanoids, but they pose such a danger they’ve been included nonetheless. Merpeople participate in archaic, violent rituals in their day-to-day life, carrying their weapons with them at all times. The merpeople residing in the lake at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have been known to kidnap children from the school and hold them hostage. Be mindful of where you swim, or your time in this world may end in a splash.

Half-bloods and Muggle-borns

Perhaps more dangerous than any of the non-human creatures listed above are the human monsters that walk among us. Centuries ago, Muggles would hunt down magical folk and burn them at the stake for their witchcraft and wizardry. Despite the clear danger they impose on our way of life, half-bloods and even Muggle-borns have been willfully integrated into wizarding society today. They’ve taken our jobs, they’ve taken our wands, and someday they may once again attempt to take our lives.

Potter Quote

“I suggest you both go up to Madam Pomfrey. She is already tending to Miss Fawcett, of Ravenclaw, and Mr. Summers, of Hufflepuff, both of whom decided to age themselves up a little too. Though I must say, neither of their beards is anything like as fine as yours.”
