Bloomsbury, Scholastic to Release Updated “Fantastic Beasts” in 2017!

by Sophie Reid · June 21, 2016

When Bloomsbury UK announced its upcoming Harry Potter publication plans a few months ago, they mentioned that a new version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them would be released in the coming year. Now, more details about the release are available.

The newly updated version of the school textbook will be released on March 14, 2017, by Bloomsbury in the UK and Scholastic in the US. The Bloomsbury edition will contain a new jacket design by Jonny Duddle, who illustrated the most recent UK versions of the Potter books. A new foreword by J.K. Rowling will also be included, as well as black and white illustrations throughout the text by Tomislav Tomić, a Croatian children’s book illustrator. His previous work includes Trick of the Tale, a collection of Trickster stories, and The Princess and the Goblin. He has created illustrations for a range of publishers, including Macmillan and Scholastic.

A final cover for the book is not yet available, but hopefully, we’ll get to see the finished work soon!

In other Fantastic Beasts film news, a new poster was released yesterday, teasing an upcoming announcement. Today, it was revealed that a special Fantastic Beasts event will take place tomorrow, June 22. The event will take place 6-7 p.m. ET, and if you cannot attend in person, then the event will be available to watch online, so there’s no reason to miss it at all!
