Never are these words more true than when attending the magical events that happen during the incredible Celebration of Harry Potter event at Universal Orlando Resort! As we wait impatiently for the announcement of the 2017 event, we recall our favorite moments from 2016’s event!

1) Forming Friendships
One of the greatest things about attending is the fellow fans who meet in the parks! Some of my personal favorite memories include exchanging Harry Potter stories while waiting in line for the rides, comparing wands with others, and singing the Hogwarts school song and hearing the huge chorus of joyous voices join in! Even spending the evening in your room with fellow Potter fanatics, telling stories and making memories, can be just as life-changing as a letter under your door.

2) The Harry Potter Expo!
The special sound stage set aside for the Expo was full of Harry Potter movie magic. It included props, costumes, and a smaller version of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour! The Expo included everything from sharing what makes Harry Potter special for fans to a look at how the wands for the movies were made! We can’t wait to see what this year’s Expo will include!

3) The Magical Nightly Announcements!
During the three spectacular nights, there were announcements from Evanna Lynch and Pierre Bohanna, who brought the attendees some of the most magical details to come out of the event. Evanna talked about the magical schools around the world, including Ilvermorny and the African and Australian schools! Pierre Bohanna described what his favorite prop to make was (the original Goblet of Fire)! We have our wands crossed for Fantastic Beasts insider information this year!

4) Star-Studded Panels
Many agree, getting to see the stars and hear them talk about their experiences making the Harry Potter films was a magical moment that would stay with them forever! Some of the star power that appeared in 2016 included Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Katie Leung (Cho Chang), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)! Who will be coming in 2017? Only Trelawney knows for now!

5) Cosplay Galore!
As any Harry Potter fan knows, half of the fun is dressing up! Unlike Disney parks, Universal Parks encourage and celebrate fan costumes and cosplays! Walking through the Universal Parks during the events, one never knows what costume will come around the corner! Fans strut their stuff on the Universal walkways and gain inspiration from each other. We can’t wait to see what imaginative and ingenious costumes are paraded around this year! Those with specific queries about what is and is not allowed, please contact the Universal Studios offices!
