London Heathrow Airport Is Getting a “Harry Potter” Store

by Callum Lloyd Thomas, Callum Lloyd Thomas · October 11, 2016

Terminal 5 at London Heathrow Airport will soon be welcoming a Harry Potter store, in time for the highly anticipated release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on November 18.

The 600-square-feet store, which opens next month, will sell a range of items from across J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world, including collectibles, apparel, accessories, gifts, novelties, and souvenirs from Platform 9 ¾ at King’s Cross station and merchandise from the West End play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as well as newly released products from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The store is set to attract more than 16 million passengers from across the globe who pass through the terminal each year. Heathrow Airport commercial director Jonathan Coen said,

We are really pleased to welcome the new Harry Potter Shop to Terminal 5. “Harry Potter” is loved across the globe, and what better place to enjoy gift and souvenirs from the wizarding world before our passengers fly to the other side of the world. We hope our customers enjoy everything the new store has to offer as they take a little magic with them.

Harry Potter Shop King’s Cross station CEO Jonathan Sands, who produced the store, added,

We are proud to be opening [t]he Harry Potter Shop at Heathrow T5, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and look forward to bringing some of our magic to the UK’s most iconic airport.

Meanwhile, vice president of licensing and business development at Warner Bros. Consumer Products EMEA Paul Bufton concluded,

Drawing on the huge success of the Platform 9 ¾ King’s Cross station shop, we are delighted to be able to announce [t]he Harry Potter Shop at Heathrow. This exciting shopping experience will offer fans a wide range of products from souvenirs to collectibles, along with exclusive Platform 9 ¾-inspired products to take on their journeys as they travel the world.
