New “Beedle the Bard” and “Quidditch Through the Ages” Covers Released!

by Sophie Reid · October 18, 2016

Not a day goes by without a piece of Harry Potter-related news at the moment, and today we’re really excited to be able to bring you the brand new cover designs for the Hogwarts Library books, The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages. The books, originally published in 2007 and 2001, respectively, have been updated for a new era of Harry Potter.

The new covers for the books, published in the UK by Bloomsbury, have been designed by Jonny Duddle. Duddle previously designed the new jackets for the Harry Potter series, released in 2014. Duddle has also designed a new cover for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which will be released on March 14, 2017. The final cover of the new Fantastic Beasts has not yet been released, but hopefully, it won’t be long until it’s revealed. For now, however, we’ve got these two new covers to fall in love with!

You can see the covers for The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages in full below.

The new versions of The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages will be released on January 12, 2017, in the UK by Bloomsbury. The books will be published by Scholastic in the US. UK readers can pre-order their copies now, in both hardback and paperback.

What do you think of the updated editions? Will you be adding these to your library? Let us know in the comments.

PRESS RELEASE

BLOOMSBURY REVEALS NEW COVERS FOR THE TALES OF BEEDLE THE BARD AND QUIDDITCH THROUGH THE AGES

Bloomsbury Publishing is excited to reveal new covers for The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages. Illustrated by Harry Potter cover artist Jonny Duddle, the jackets show new images from both books. The front cover of The Tales of Beedle the Bard shows the wizard being chased by the hopping pot, and the front cover of Quidditch Through the Ages features Roderick Plumpton who famously caught the Golden Snitch within three and a half seconds in 1921. Both new editions are published on 12th January 2017 in hardback and paperback formats.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages are based on Harry's school textbooks from the Harry Potter series, and were written by J.K. Rowling in aid of charity: Quidditch Through the Ages in aid of Comic Relief, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard in aid of J.K. Rowling’s children’s charity Lumos.
