“J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Movie Magic Volume One” Highlights the Best of “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts”

We’re under the one-month mark until Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is released, but that short time period doesn’t mean we don’t need something Potter-ish to tide us over until that happy day arrives. Luckily, some of the merchandise that was first teased over the summer is starting to be released, including J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Movie Magic Volume One: Extraordinary People and Fascinating Places. Let’s take a look inside!

This gorgeous book has interactive features that set it apart from some other tie-in titles on the market, and they really give Movie Magic Volume One a sense of fun and whimsy. Even though I own most of author Jody Revenson’s other books about the Harry Potter world, this felt new and exciting to look at.

The book is organized into sections by franchise, then subdivided by character, subject, or location. Part 1 features highlights from Fantastic Beasts, and Part 2 features highlights from the Harry Potter world. The sections focusing on Harry Potter are nice, of course, but if we’re being honest, we were really itching to take a look at what the book had to say about Fantastic Beasts. While there wasn’t really anything we didn’t know revealed in the book (did we really expect anything else?), we do get some gorgeous interactive layouts and some of our first close-ups of some MinaLima props from the film.

That’s right – it comes with stickers!

The book also comes with two Death Eater masks, which, if a little random, does make for some seasonal Halloween fun!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
