“What Are We Keeping Secret?”: Jason Isaacs Reflects on “Harry Potter”
From non-disclosure agreements to #KeepingtheSecrets for all things Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World was initially shrouded in secrecy, and Jason Isaacs is not entirely sure why.
Despite playing a pure-blooded, aristocratic wizard with a respectable position in the Ministry of Magic and another in Lord Voldemort’s ranks, Isaacs never understood the secrecy surrounding the Potter films.
Well, the books were the bestselling books in the world. What are we keeping secret?
Unlike Lucius Malfoy, who harbored his deep, dark secrets as a loyal Death Eater, Isaacs displayed his humorous side regarding the seriousness and secrecy of it all.
On Harry Potter, we had non-disclosure agreements and I always signed them as Mickey Mouse, John Lennon or Jesus.
We definitely can’t imagine dear old Lucius doing something like that at the next Death Eaters meeting!
Isaacs then went on to discuss his character in Star Trek: Discovery and how many “rough edges” he might have.
[I’m] not allowed to say that my Captain will probably be the most f**ked up.
