Spooky Spells

by Mikaela Renshaw · October 27, 2017

Halloween is only a few days away. So for all the wizards and witches out there who are hoping to make this Halloween even more magical, here is a list of spooky spells to help you celebrate the holiday.

1. Luridus Facies

This spell is perfect if you want some cool Halloween makeup to go along with your costume but aren’t actually sure how to apply it. Simply point your wand at your face and cast the spell while visualizing whatever frightening visage you want. The spell will ensure that it comes out pefectly, and unlike real make up, this won’t smudge.

2. Verte In Monstrum

If you’re still trying to figure out decorations, this spell will definitely help. The first thing you need is an inanimate object. It can be almost anything, from a plastic pumpkin to a coffee mug. After you cast the spell, it will be transformed in a gruesome monster that you can now stick outside your door as decoration.

3. Arcesse Umbram

Maybe you don’t have plans to go out this Halloween, and that’s fine. However, if you’re looking for some spooky fun you can have indoors, this spell is for you. This spell doesn’t require any prep, but it’s recommended that you cast it in an open area. Once it’s cast, the nearest ghost will be summoned to bring you some Halloween cheer.

4. Pare Cuppedia

Did you forget to buy the candy this year and are now terrified of disappointing all the trick-or-treaters? If so, just cast this spell. Fill up your candy bowl with sugar or chocolate chips as a base, and with a wave of the wand, you’ll have all the treats you need for the night.

5. Sculpete Mirabila Pulpita

One of the best parts of Halloween is carving pumpkins, and some people create some truly magnificent masterpieces. If you’re like me and aspire to that level of skill, but can only carve the most basic of pumpkins, then this is the spell you need. Once cast, those pumpkins will turn into artwork fit for a museum.

6. Exple Caelum Cum Terorri

If you’re really looking to scare some people on Halloween night, then this spell is all you need. The spell affects the area around where it’s cast, like the front porch. Anyone who then enters that area will be filled with an inexplicable feeling of terror, as though they’ve stepped into a horror film. You’re sure to scare more than a few people.

7. Ornationes Arenarum

If despite all your decorating, you still feel like something’s missing, try this spell. It will cover your home in webs and more than a few spiders hiding inside. They aren’t real, so you don’t have to worry about that, but they will move to add an extra element to any haunted house. They’re also very easy to clean up since the decorations won’t last more than a day.

8. Muta Habitus

Even if you’ve had your costume ready for months, something can still go wrong. Maybe something ripped or you’ve suddenly outgrown it. Either way, you need something to fix it. This spell allows for quick alterations to costumes, ensuring that they’re intact and properly sized. After all, everybody deserves the chance to dress up, and a last-minute disaster shouldn’t stop you.

9. Dolus Non Oblectamento

Trick-or-treating is one of the best parts of Halloween, but not everyone gets in on the spirit. We’ve all been to houses like that, where there’s no candy left out, and despite obviously being home, they refuse to answer the door. Well, this spell provides just a touch of Halloween mischief for all those who refuse to get in on the spirit. Nothing serious, but the inhabitants will just feel like there’s a poltergeist in their house for the rest of the night.

10. Saltandi Skeletorum

Skeletons are a staple of Halloween, and this spell brings them right to your doorstep. Once cast, a group of skeletons will appear right in front of you, but they won’t just lie there limply. Instead, they’ll dance the night away, either as a good decoration for your house or as extra spooky guests for your Halloween party.
