“Potter” Alumni Receive Oscar Nominations

The nominations for the Academy Awards were released this week, and many of our Potter alumni had current and former projects included in the list. Among the nominees are Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), who continues to collect nominations for his turn as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, Deathly Hallows composer Alexandre Desplat, and original Potter composer John Williams, who has once again broken his own record with his nomination for Original Score (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), maintaining his place as the most Oscar-nominated person alive.
