Meet the Newest Witch Featured on Chocolate Frog Cards!

Licorice Wands, sugar quills, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans… we want them all! And though all Honeydukes sweets are superlative, Chocolate Frogs – store-bought or homemade – are the fan favorite. One reason for the favoritism is the collectible card that comes with each treat and the goal to collect them all. It’s not always easy, either. As Ron tells Harry on the Hogwarts Express, “I’ve got about five hundred, but I haven’t got Agrippa or Ptolemy.”

Getting the famous witch or wizard you want out of a Frog is tricky, and it’s gotten more difficult in recent years because of additions such as Hengist of Woodcroft and Bertie Bott himself! On July 2, 2018, another witch will get her own Chocolate Frog card from Universal Orlando Resort: Jocunda Sykes!

If the name doesn’t sound familiar, Jocunda Sykes accomplished a great feat in 1935 by becoming the first witch to cross the Atlantic by broom. According to the Kingdom Insider, a golden sticker will mark boxes with Sykes’ card at first, but that won’t last long. Soon, getting Sykes will be a matter of chance. Chocolate Frogs are available at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, and you can purchase your own at either Sugarplum’s Sweetshop in Diagon Alley or Honeydukes in Hogsmeade.
