Review: Geek Gear’s December World of Wizardry Unboxing

by Lucy O'Shea · January 18, 2019

January might bring with it new beginnings, but we still have a December World of Wizardry box to delve into!

Take a look at our reviews below to find out what was in this month’s box. This is our final World of Wizardry box review, thank you to Geek Gear for partnering with MuggleNet during 2018!

The following is included in each monthly box:

  • One wizarding world–themed T-shirt
  • One exclusive print
  • Four other wizarding world–themed and officially licensed products

Included in this box was one of two print designs that show depict the Triwizard Tournament.Included in this box was one of two print designs that show depict the Triwizard Tournament.

Megan's Review – Slytherin Box
The one item I was actually really excited about was the shrunken head. I cannot wait until I can hang that up on my rearview mirror. The t-shirt had a nice design, but nothing too amazing. The Fantastic Beasts print, however, was beautiful. I will definitely be getting a frame for that.
After getting Merlin knows how many keychains in these boxes, I wasn't as excited about the keychain, no matter how much I love the Niffler. The Triwizard Tournament print definitely brought up some buried emotions about Cedric Diggory's death that I wasn't prepared to deal with.
Normally, I am really pumped to see what wand they include in these boxes. This one, however, I wasn't as impressed with. The concept of the design is beautiful, but the finished product, in my personal opinion, looked plastic-like and cheaply-made.
Lucy's Review – Hufflepuff

While this wasn’t the most jam-packed World of Wizardry Box, it certainly contained some stand out items. I really like the T-Shirt included this month, it is an understated way of showing house unity, which is great if (like me) you’re wardrobe is not usually colorful. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the shrunken head figurine, it’s definitely an unusual item to receive.
My favorite item from this box was the signed artwork from Kevin Cantwell, who also designed the greetings cards in the November box. I just love how it captures the mayhem of Newt’s case!

Lizzie's Review – Gryffindor Box
Over and over again, Geek Gear have spoiled us rotten with a beautiful collection of t-shirts. Breaking the mold with a four houses themed t-shirt, it's great to have another style Hogwarts t-shirt that is a bit different.
I was completely in love with the fantastic beasts print. The attention to detail is stunning and with it being A3 instead of A4 it makes it extra special! It most definitely needs framing so I can stare at it all day in its full glory.

And that’s our thoughts on the last World of Wizardry box of 2018! Once again, thank you to Geek Gear for partnering with MuggleNet this past year.
