Review and Giveaway: Win an NYCC-Exclusive Hedwig FiGPiN XL from FiGPiN!

by Laura Hernan · October 27, 2019

Regardless of New York Comic Con wrapping up a few weeks ago, we still have some swag to give away! Our Content Editor Laura Hernan is here to share her thoughts on the Hedwig FiGPiN XL, an exclusive item from NYCC. The company’s new line of Harry Potter™ FiGPiNs was introduced at NYCC, and why not kick it off with Harry’s loyal companion, Hedwig.

Hedwig FiGPiN XL

My letter from Hogwarts has finally arrived, and it was delivered by none other than Hedwig. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, and I know you are, then this new item from FiGPiN is a must-see. In honor of New York Comic Con, FiGPiN is introducing a 6″ tall Hedwig pin.

What is FiGPiN? I wondered the same thing when I received the opportunity to review this amazing item. FiGPiNs are collectible pins that come in three different sizes, 2″, 3″, and 6″ (XL). The pins can be worn as a fashion accessory or displayed.

FiGPiN is all about the art, and it doesn’t disappoint with Hedwig. Hedwig is made of a sturdy enamel with rich detail. The pin has beautiful shading and raised lines, and the colors are incredibly accurate in portraying Hedwig. The attention to detail is not lost on the exquisite letter from Hogwarts in Hedwig’s beak. The detail in the letter includes the Hogwarts crest and seal.

I loved everything about this giant Hedwig pin from the moment I opened the box. Hedwig is perched on a high shelf in my room. It looks as if she has just landed on top of my book collection. She’s looking down on me with my Hogwarts letter in her beak, and it’s almost as if she’s waiting for me to take the letter from her. My only regret with this pin is that it is the only Harry Potter character in the collection. I want more!

This XL version of Hedwig includes a gel holder in the box to help the pin stand by itself. Hedwig also has the FiGPiN code on her back. This FiGPiN code is used to unlock your pin on the FiGPiN app. This is FiGPiN at its finest. Hedwig comes in a limited collector’s box and is marked as one of 750.
