Review and Giveaway: Win a Honeydukes Backpack from JuJuBe!

by Helene Karp · May 11, 2020

Travelers and collectors alike can rejoice at the exciting new Honeydukes collection from JuJuBe! Their bright and colorful new collection has everything from diaper bags to backpacks to fanny packs, all with a unique print that pays homage to the beloved wizarding candy shop. I got the chance to review not one but TWO of these bags for you – the Be Packed and Midi backpacks. See below for what I thought, and make sure to enter to win one of your very own!

I must say, I cannot wait to travel in style with these adorable new Honeydukes backpacks! There is no doubt that these bags will garner both intrigued looks and compliments from everyone at the airport, if not solely due to the fact that their bright pink design is extremely eye-catching.

Both bags come with the same colorful and sweet-ridden print, covered in pictures of old favorites such as Fizzing Whizbees, Jelly Slugs, Sugar Quills, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, and last but not least, the classic Honeydukes logo! Just looking at the bag makes my mouth water, wishing I was in Hogsmeade for a quick stop at our favorite sweet shop. I have to say that my favorite detail, however, is the metal Chocolate Frog zipper pull! Also, if you take a peek inside both bags, you’ll find an adorable white, pink, and green candy-striped print with green accents on the zippers and elastic. It really gives that authentic candy shop feel!

Let’s start with the bigger of the two bags, called the “Be Packed.” This bag was definitely designed with a seasoned traveler in mind. It is noticeably larger than the Midi backpack, both on the outside and the inside. The large inside pocket has a special slot for a laptop, as well as a smaller zippered pouch near the front of the bag for smaller electronics. Up at the top-right, behind the handle, there is another small pocket lined with black felt, which could easily fit a cell phone.

On the very front of the bag, there’s a rather large zippered pocket that contains two mesh elastic holders, good for liquids or medicine (or anything you want to store in there, really). Then, of course, on both sides of the backpack are tall elastic pockets great for holding a water bottle. To top it all off, both the backside and print-covered straps are thickly padded with black foam for a long-lasting, comfortable wear.

As someone who travels by plane quite a bit, this backpack has everything I could possibly need for a prepared and comfortable flight. The next time I take to the skies, I’ll have a carry-on that fits everything I need while also showing off my love of Potter in the cutest way possible!

The other bag I have to review for you is called the “Midi” backpack. This one is definitely meant for more casual, everyday wear. It’s not a full-on traveling backpack but larger than one of those mini backpacks that I see people wearing at theme parks all the time (hence the name “Midi”), but to me, it’s honestly the perfect size. It has the same charming bright-pink Honeydukes print and Chocolate Frog zipper pulls, but with some obvious differences from the Be Packed version.

The inside pocket doesn’t have a separate slot just for a laptop but instead has one zippered pouch and three elastic pouches for optimal storage. The front zippered pocket takes up about half of the outside of the bag and is very roomy! This bag also has two side pockets with a more discreet elastic design that could be used for water bottles or even a cell phone. I think my favorite feature of this Midi bag, though, is the adorable candy-striped straps on the back! They’re not padded for comfort like the Be Packed version, but that’s not exactly necessary with a more casual bag that you probably won’t be using for long trips.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the perfect combination of stylishness and practicality both of these bags offer! If you take a look at the full JuJuBe Honeydukes collection, you’ll see bags of all shapes, sizes, and uses. There truly is something for everyone in this adorable print!
