“First We Must Learn to Fall”: Catch James Phelps in “Cadia: The World Within”

by Lucy O'Shea · September 10, 2020

It’s been over a year since we got our first glimpse of James Phelps (Fred Weasley) in the upcoming fantasy movie Cadia: The World Within. Now, with an extended trailer and release date announcement, it won’t be long before fans can see Phelps in action.

Cadia: The World Within is a story of three teenagers, Matthew, David, and Renee Addams, who discover the mystical realm of Cadia while grieving the loss of their mother. During their journey through Cadia and fight to get home, the three teenagers learn about “grace, love, doubt, and the nature of good versus evil” values that Potter fans will surely find familiar.

Phelps stars as Tanion, a character whom the teenagers meet in Cadia. Although we know little about the character, we do know that he has one of the coolest lines in the trailer: “What you need to understand is, to rise, first we must learn to fall.”

Cadia: The World Within has been in the works for a number of years. Writer and director Cedric Gegel first got the idea for the movie while backstage at a musical, and after two years of writing, he had a completed story to tell. After a year of debuting the movie at film festivals across the United States, Gegel revealed just how excited he is for a wider audience to see his passion project.

When this world began, it existed only in my head. To know that so many people will be able to see this film and celebrate the incredible work of this brilliant cast and crew, the talented artists that brought the world of Cadia out of my head and into reality, is incredibly humbling and special to me.

Gegel has also shared his pride in creating the movie as an independent venture, working with his cast and crew to bring Cadia: The World Within to life against the challenges of tight budgets and schedules.

To have made the film we did and told the story that we were able to tell, as an independent film working on a pretty tight budget and shoot schedule, feels like a huge success, and we are so proud of this film and the team behind it.

For those who want to see Phelps in action, Cadia: The World Within will be released on September 15 in the United States and will be available on Amazon Prime and Vudu.

"When this world began, it existed only in my head. To know that so many people will be able to see this film and celebrate the incredible work of this brilliant cast and crew, the talented artists that brought the world of Cadia out of my head and into reality, is incredibly humbling and special to me,” says Cedric Gegel, writer and director of Cadia: The World Within. Cadia: The World Within features Corbin Bernsen (LA Law, Major League, Psych) and James Phelps (Fred Weasley of the Harry Potter film series). Gegel continued: “To have made the film we did and told the story that we were able to tell, as an independent film working on a pretty tight budget and shoot schedule, feels like a huge success, and we are so proud of this film and the team behind it.”

Cadia: The World Within is the story of Matthew, David, and Renee Addams, three fourteen-year-olds whose journey into a mystical realm teaches them about grace, love, doubt, and the nature of good versus evil. “We are living in a more demanding and complex world. Now more than ever, people yearn for opportunities that uplift the heart, mind, and soul,” says Schalet Jackson, producer of Cadia: The World Within. Cadia: The World Within is a film that provides hope and encourages philosophical discussion on how we interact with the world around us. Cadia: The World Within is an adventure that will get people to believe in each other and in the world again. Jackson states, “In the midst of adversity, Matthew, David and Renee soon discover the importance of mindfulness and how it’s key to gaining resilience. It is my hope that Cadia: The World Within gifts others with learning experiences that are filled with love and laughter.”

Potter Quote

“You’ve picked the losing side, Potter! I warned you! I told you you ought to choose your company more carefully, remember? When we met on the train, first day at Hogwarts? I told you not to hang around with riffraff like this!”
