Defeat Fortresses for Guaranteed Foundable Fragments on “Wizards Unite” April 2021 Community Day

by Adam Poncharoensub · April 16, 2021

Since developer Niantic packed the first three weeks of April with tons of events, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite players have had a busy month. The devs provided a brief respite today following the conclusion of the second April Adversaries Event, which saw players battling Hagrid’s Acromantula Aragog and the King of Serpents, both introduced in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. After a moment’s rest, tomorrow begins the April 2021 Community Day.

As the name suggests, Community Days in Wizards Unite are meant to promote cooperation with your fellow witches and wizards. The objective of these events is to encourage players to band together and complete Fortress Challenges, which are composed of Chambers with foes of increasing difficulty. If players can defeat all the foes in a Fortress Challenge, they will be showered with rewards, depending on the Runestone used. And with any Wizards Unite event, there are usually increased spawns of Traces as well as a Special Assignment.

For April 2021, Niantic has decided to focus less on the Traces on the overworld map and more on taking down Fortresses. Unfortunately, there will not be any increased spawns of Traces. However, starting at 12:00 p.m. and ending at 11:59 p.m. local time on April 17, players can look forward to several guaranteed drops of Foundable Fragments in specific Chambers regardless of the Runestone used. Below, you’ll see the list of Foundable Fragments and the corresponding Chambers where they’re guaranteed to be found:

  • Guaranteed Owl Lecturn from Forest Chamber III
  • Portrait of a Wild Boar from Forest Chamber V
  • Cursed Opal Necklace from Dark Chamber II
  • Tom Riddle Gravestone from Dark Chamber V

Also, players will be granted a special 1 km Portmanteau, which guarantees a Hogwarts Hourglass. The brew time for Healing Potions, which is normally two hours, will be reduced by 50% after completing the Master Notes. Considering that Healing Potions help restore your stamina, this will be incredibly useful when completing Wizarding Challenges. Speaking of which, there will be bonus rewards in the form of Spell Energy, extra Wizarding XP, and extra Challenge XP for any finished Wizarding Challenge.

And of course, players will be able to complete the Community Day Special Assignment for even more bonus rewards. The Special Assignment for the April 2021 Community Day includes a list of various Tasks mostly centered around obtaining the Foundable Fragments that are guaranteed to drop during the Fortress Challenges. This means that while going through the Fortress Challenges, you’ll be completing several Tasks of the Special Assignment. It’s like hitting two Chasers with one Bludger. The list of Tasks and the rewards for completing them can be found below:

  • Use 12 Potions (Any) – 25 Spell Energy
  • Earn 6,500 Wizarding XP from Wizarding Challenges – 1 Invigoration Draught
  • Return 3 Owl Lecturns from Forest Chamber III – 6 Bitterroot
  • Return 2 Wild Boar Portraits from Forest Chamber IV – 1 Strong Exstimulo Potion
  • Return 2 Cursed Opal Necklace from Dark Chamber II – 1 Potent Exstimulo Potion
  • Return 1 Tom Riddle Sr. Gravestone from Dark Chamber V – 1 Silver Key
  • Bonus Rewards – 3 Restricted Section Books, 3 Spell Books, 200 XP, 40 Coins, 20 Spell Energy

The next and last event of April is the second Brilliant Event, titled A Weasley Predicament Brilliant Event – Part 2, which begins on Monday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. PDT and ends on Monday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. PDT. For this Brilliant Event, players will be embarking on a weeklong hunt for Brilliant Weasley Clock and Brilliant Proprietor Fred Weasley Encounters. Other Foundables include Molly Weasley via completion of a Wizarding Challenge, a Self-Knitting Sweater obtained through Tasks, and Gnome transported to you by way of a Brilliant Portkey. These are wonderful references to the home of a beautiful wizarding family.

Do you think you have the dueling skills to take down a Fortress? Are you ready to begin searching for Brilliant Proprietor Fred Weasley? Let us know in the comments. Be sure to snap a few photos from your adventures tomorrow and tag us on Instagram.
