Bonnie Wright Reveals Title and Covers of Her First Book

by Adam Poncharoensub · November 20, 2021

Today, Bonnie Wright, the actor responsible for bringing Ginny Weasley to life in the Harry Potter film series, announced the title of her upcoming book, which was initially described as “basically a kind of lifestyle-home book about sustainability and what we can be doing at home.” Sharing the same name as her new platform, Bonnie’s debut as a published author is titled Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet.

Exactly as Bonnie said, a provided synopsis of the book describes what is essentially a guide filled with tons of useful information alongside practical tips and tricks to change certain habits that will ultimately benefit the environment. And to alleviate any fears or trepidation that comes with sudden and drastic change, Bonnie intends to ease readers into positive lifestyle changes with small, manageable steps at home.

In Go Gently, Bonnie won’t tell you to overhaul your life. Instead, she’ll meet you where you are, offering a crash course in climate-related issues along with practical tips, skills, and recipes that can start you on your own best path. She’ll show you that small things like educating yourself on which materials can be recycled, and how learning to mend your clothes instead of throwing them away or turning your coffee grounds into an incredible exfoliating scrub, will naturally lead to big-picture thinking and living.

By shifting the way you approach seemingly small daily actions, you’ll begin to understand the larger systems at play and how your individual choices can make a big difference. It’s the little things we do each day that add up to the greatest impact. Once you’ve built a foundation with the small steps, Bonnie helpfully explains how to get involved with the larger community in a way that suits your personality and lifestyle.

Along with the title, Bonnie surprised us with two different covers. The North American cover features Bonnie sitting atop a picnic bench surrounded by beautiful green foliage. The second cover, available in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, is much more subtle, with Bonnie standing in front of what appears to be a craft table where she’d be likely to put into action some of the tips in her book. The collectors out there might be tempted to obtain both gorgeous covers.

So if you’ve ever felt strongly about protecting the planet but just didn’t know exactly where to begin, then Bonnie’s new book will soon be available to help you commence your journey to a more sustainable lifestyle. Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet is available for preorder and will be released on April 19.

Will you be preordering your copy of Go Gently? Is there anything regarding climate change or sustainable living that you’re looking to learn more about from Bonnie’s perspective? Let us know in the comments.
