Hogwarts Express Will Undergo Magical Maintenance at Universal Orlando Resort This Summer

Attention all Muggles! If you’ve booked your summer trip to Universal Orlando Resort, you might want to see if the Hogwarts Express will be under magical maintenance.

WDW News Today recently posted that the Hogwarts Express will be closed beginning June 9 until June 19 for refurbishment. No doubt that Universal Orlando Resort will face some disgruntled guests who were ready to take a ride, but we’re excited to see the update.

Across the Pacific, CNN has reported that Universal Beijing Resort has shut down the Universal Studios theme park and CityWalk due to COVID restrictions as a result of a new outbreak of the Omicron variant. Ten days ago, Universal Beijing Resort received guidance from disease control authorities, leading to an immediate shutdown. There is no reopening date listed at this time.

This is one of Beijing’s new restrictions, including banning all restaurant dining and asking citizens to show proof of a negative COVID test before entering public venues. This comes as their Labor Day holiday began the previous day, Saturday, April 30.
