Celebrate Butterbeer Season and Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios This Spring

by Catherine Lai, Elyse Maupin-Thomas · March 22, 2025

Spring is here, and with it comes an urge to visit the Wizarding World parks. That’s nothing new, but the ways to celebrate the magic of Harry Potter certainly are. From tantalizing treats to after-hours events, there’s plenty of enchantment in store for fans. Warmer weather calls for cooler drinks and, like this time last year, Butterbeer Season has come just in time.

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are marking the occasion with new mouthwatering offerings, like a butterbeer cream puff, which is available at the Three Broomsticks, along with limited-edition gold souvenir steins that are perfect for sipping the beverage both cold and hot. Guests can also purchase a butterbeer-flavored chocolate bar and butterbeer caramel at retail locations. These will all be available throughout the season, which runs from March 1 to May 31. The ice lolly frozen dessert has returned as well, though this will now be available year-round.

The parks are also offering a butterbeer-themed merchandise collection, consisting of apparel and accessories like zipped fleece hoodies, crossbody bags, socks, and more. Fans can buy items from the collection this season to celebrate every wizard’s favorite beverage year-round.

If you’re in the US but unable to make it to the Universal theme parks, Harry Potter New York has a few worthy offerings as well. Drop by the Butterbeer Bar to sip and sample brand-new treats, including butterbeer cookies, sundaes, and a new ice cream topping. And just like last year, the butterbeer truck will be visiting multiple locations across the US.

Fans in Europe will find their Butterbeer Season celebration at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, and those in Asia can find themed delights at Harry Potter: Visions of Magic in Singapore, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Beijing Resort.

Universal Studios Hollywood is bringing some extra enchantment to the West Coast this spring with Universal Fan Fest Nights, running on select evenings from April 25 through May 18. The event consists of after-hours entertainment for fans of several of the world’s most cherished properties, including, obviously, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Potter fanatics will be treated to encounters with magical creatures, including Nifflers, an Occamy, and a baby dragon. Hogwarts Always, a dazzling light projection show that first debuted in Orlando, will light up the night against the backdrop of Hogwarts Castle.

Universal Fan Fest Nights also includes a special menu at the Three Broomsticks, where reservations will be required. Appetizers include four House-themed Cornish pasties. Entrees include a Sunday roast, curry chicken, fish and chips, and toad in the hole. And desserts include a Golden Snitch–themed cake and a House Cup–themed trifle. Meanwhile, the Magic Neep Cart will be serving Hogwarts House–themed churros and a Hogwarts meat pie, and Florean Fortescue’s will be offering the Niffler’s Bounty ice cream cone and the Pygmy Puff sundae. Tickets are on sale now.

Fly – don’t walk – to participate in the extraordinary events this season.
