Tom Felton sorts other celebrities into Hogwarts houses!

by Mary Wojcicki · January 23, 2015

Tom Felton was recently interviewed by Huffington Post, and he also took over for Hogwarts’s Sorting Hat! While we don’t know if he came up with a clever song to go along with the impromptu Sorting Ceremony, he certainly didn’t shy away when he was asked to sort a few of his fellow celebrities.

First up was Kim Kardashian, whom Felton sorted into Slytherin. (“For sure,” he added, although he didn’t elaborate.)

Next, it was Justin Bieber’s turn, to which Felton said,

Ah, wow. I can see a trend coming here. He’s gonna have to join me in Slytherin as well. He’s a bit of a bad boy.

Showing that he wasn’t about to play favorites and sort everyone into Slytherin House, singer Taylor Swift was sorted into Gryffindor. His reasoning?

Taylor Swift is far too good. We’ll say Gryffindor.

Ariana Grande seemed to be a Hatstall since the Sorting Hat (Felton) hesitated on where to place her:

Um .. that’d be Ravenclaw. I know she’s a Potter fan.

He then admitted,

I’m not sure. She seems very sweet. Let’s go Gryffindor again.

With two celebrities in Gryffindor and Slytherin each, Kanye West was the next to be sorted:

Hufflepuff. Definitely. He confuses me a bit, but that’s the house I’d go with.

Miley Cyrus? Tom didn’t waste time when it came to sorting her into Slytherin House, saying,

Miley Cyrus is definitely part of Slytherin. Absolutely.

Following Cyrus was One Direction member Harry Styles, who was also the only Briton on the list. Saying that he had “met him a few times,” Tom remarked,

He seems like a cool guy. […] He’s very sweet. Let’s stick him in Gryffindor, I think.

On actress Gwyneth Paltrow, he said,

She’s Ravenclaw. Very loyal. We’ll go with that.

Rapper Pitbull was last on the list and like the majority of celebrities named before, was sorted into Slytherin.

He’s got to be a Slytherin. Hasn’t he?

We’re not sure how biased this Sorting Hat was, considering that most of the named celebrities were placed in Slytherin, the same house Draco Malfoy was in. In fact, Felton said in the same interview,

I’m definitely not taking the Pottermore quiz anytime soon for the Sorting Hat because I’m just too terrified that I’d end up in Gryffindor or something like that. I’m just proclaiming that I’m a Slytherin and that’s the end of it.

Since then, however, Felton went back on his word and took the quiz to find that he was, in fact, sorted into Gryffindor.

UPDATE:

In response to her sorting, Ariana Grande posted on Twitter:

Tom Felton, meanwhile, had this response to being sorted into Gryffindor on Pottermore:

Today was the day. I finally did it. I joined Pottermore and was sorted into……..Gryffindor. Heart broken x #slytherinforlife

What do you think of Tom’s Sorting Hat skills? Do you think he belongs in Gryffindor or Slytherin? Are you afraid to take the Pottermore Sorting Hat quiz for fear of where it will place you?
