Five of Our Favorite Fandom Pairings: Ginny Weasley Edition

Ginny Weasley is one of the many strong women in Harry Potter. She is also one of the most popular characters to write fan fiction about, and she has been paired with many different characters in the series. I’ve talked about Ginny in previous articles about her being paired with Draco Malfoy and Luna Lovegood, but Ginny truly deserves her own article in this series.

1. Ginny/Hermione

Hermione and Ginny get thrown together so often during the summers. They even share Ginny’s room. Herminny fan fiction explores their relationship on a deeper level and shows us what might have been if Hermione chose a different Weasley.

2. Ginny/Neville

Imagine what would have happened if Ginny and Neville had hit it off at the Yule Ball. That is what a lot of the Ninny fan fictions focus on. These two are adorable together, and I love that we get to explore their relationship with fan fiction.

3. Ginny/Cho

Ginny and Cho, two strong, female Quidditch players, in a relationship together. Why wasn’t this canon? Instead of seeing the two of them date Harry, I would have loved to see them get together. Thanks to fan fiction, we can.

4. Ginny/Blaise

In the books, we don’t really get to explore Blaise’s character. This leads fans to create their own interpretation of who he really is. This means that in fan fiction, fans can portray him as the perfect guy for Ginny Weasley.  This ship can be completely believable and interesting if it is written right.

5. Ginny/Tonks

Ginny and Tonks would have so much fun together. Their relationship would be filled with laughter and jokes. Together, they would be much stronger characters.

Honorable Mention: Ginny/Lucius

This pairing is very interesting, which is why it deserves an honorable mention in this article. Since we love Ginny with Draco, pairing her with his father might seem a little weird, but after reading a few fan fictions with this as the main pairing I have come to truly love these two together. I would not want it to be canon, and there is a huge age gap, but if the story is written right they can be amazing together, and that helps you overlook the little things.
