Social Media Roundup: Work Hard, Play Hard

by Shachi Tiwari · July 2, 2017

From movie premieres to new films, work is always in demand for our wizarding world alumni. Catch up with the projects and accomplishments of Emma Watson, Katie Leung, and more!

On June 21, Emma Watson attended the premiere of The Circle in Paris, where she was seen greeting fans and looking beautiful! Don’t you agree?

Emma also spent her time in Paris hiding copies of The Handmaid’s Tale for readers to find, just like she had done in London.

Katie Leung displayed excitement for her upcoming film, The Foreigner, in which she plays the on-screen daughter of Jackie Chan. We can’t wait to see it!

Meanwhile, Jessie Cave has been receiving significant attention for her creative doodles. Congratulations, Jessie!

And just like her fellow alumni, Bonnie Wright showed little time for relaxation as she directed a new film with Pulse Films.

bye bye london ?? highlight was squeezing myself into a taxi whilst directing a fun little branded film with @pulsefilms ?☀️?

With hard work comes reward, which was certainly the case for Noma Dumezweni, who played Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. How beautiful is her dress?

It is always heartwarming to see acts of kindness, especially when they are done by our very own Potter alumni.

In supporting a fire victim campaign for people in Portugal, Rupert Grint showed his compassion and understanding for raising awareness of the unfortunate ordeal.

Just like Rupert, Evanna displayed her unwavering kindness and empathy for people who felt alone in their “oddness.”

Beautiful essay. And actually a not uncommon response to Luna’s character. If you feel alone in your oddness this article might help. https://t.co/N7wiklojG4

— Evanna Lynch (@Evy_Lynch) July 2, 2017

And it seems that Evanna also can’t help but fantasize about being back in the wizarding world! Hey, we totally understand.

Not one day of my life passes by without me sitting on some bus/train/car fantasising about the ability to apparate. #perenniallylate

That’s it for this week’s roundup! We couldn’t be prouder of our beloved alumni for continuing to work hard and do good. After all, as J.K. Rowling says, “anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.“

It’s high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the ‘Dementor’ layout), the polls (I actually voted in the ‘Who’s the Half-Blood Prince?’ one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)… pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you.
