Awards Roundup: Cuarón Still Winning as More Award Nominations Are Announced

Roma won at the Golden Globes for Best Foreign Language Film, and Cuarón won Best Director of a Motion Picture.

Cuarón also won big at the Critics' Choice Awards. Roma took home awards for Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film, and Cuarón won Best Cinematography and Best Director.

Cuarón was nominated for a Writers Guild Award in the Original Screenplay category. The winners will be announced on Sunday, February 17.

The National Film Awards UK will take place on March 27, 2019, and a few Harry Potter alums were nominated.

Sir Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore) was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in King of Thieves. Gambon also earned a nomination in the Global Contribution to Motion Picture category.

Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley) and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) both received nominations in the Best Performance in an Animation Film category - Gleeson for Peter Rabbit and Bonham Carter for Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero.

The Producers Guild of America Awards will be presented on January 19.

Cuarón and his coproducer, Gabriela Rodríguez, were nominated for Roma. The producers of Crazy Rich Asians, in which appeared Gemma Chan (Madam Ya Zhou), were also nominated. Both films' producers are up for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.

The producers of Isle of Dogs, which includes a score by Alexandre Desplat (who scored Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), are up for the Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, in which appeared Zoë Kravitz (Leta Lestrange), was nominated in the same category.

The Art Directors Guild Awards recognize incredible creators behind the scenes of films, television, and more. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald's production designer Stuart Craig, set decorator Anna Pinnock, and the entire team were nominated for the movie in the Best Production Design: Fantasy Feature Film award.
