Emma Watson to Be Featured in Pirelli’s 2020 Calendar
Potter actors love Shakespeare, and now Emma Watson is set to portray one of the Bard’s most famous characters. However, Watson will not be stepping onstage or gracing the big screen. Instead, she will be appearing on the pages of the 2020 edition of the prestigious Pirelli Calendar.
In a Vogue exclusive, the theme for the 2020 calendar was revealed as “Looking for Juliet,” a subject exploring the love, strength, and youthfulness of Romeo and Juliet‘s leading female.
In addition to Watson, the calendar will feature eight other actresses and singers from different countries and cultures around the world, including Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Claire Foy (The Crown), Chinese singer Chris Lee, and Franco-Italian artist Stella Roversi.
Speaking to Vogue, photographer Paolo Roversi spoke of the experience of auditioning the women who are featured in the calendar.
What was very moving was to see actresses of this level audition like it was their first casting. There’s something so innocent, naïve, and sincere about it that really corresponds to Juliet.

When asked to describe the play in one word, Watson and her castmates chose words such as “love,” “heart,” “Italy,” “tragedy,” and “jealousy.”
The Pirelli Calendar was first produced in 1964, and there have been 46 calendars produced since that first edition. Many famous faces have appeared in the Pirelli Calendar over the years, including model Naomi Campbell, actress Penelope Cruz, tennis player Serena Williams, and actress and comedienne Amy Schumer.
Only a limited number of copies of the calendar are printed each year, making it a highly prestigious and sought-after item.
