Tom Felton Returns Today as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

What’s happening

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre will officially debut the Year 7 Cast, including film-series alum Tom Felton reprising his screen role of Draco Malfoy. Felton’s run is scheduled from November 11 2025 through May 10 2026, though the rest of the Year 7 cast will likely remain in their roles for a full year.

Record-breaking stats

The play holds a record from the Guinness World Records as the highest-grossing non-musical Broadway play, with over US$430 million in total sales and over 3.5 million tickets sold.

It became the third-longest-running Broadway non-musical play (as of September 1 2025) when it surpassed 2,328 performances.

For a non-musical play, it also broke weekly gross records, earning around $2.72 million in a single week. (This record has recently been smashed by other celebrity-led hits like Good Night, and Good Luck.
