As we recently reported, Harry Potter’s very own Rupert Grint (Ronald Weasley) will be taking part of the symbolic Olympic Torch relay.
SnitchSeeker & the BBC are now reporting that Rupert’s run will take place on Wednesday, July 25th and will start at Middlesex University. The University is in Barnet, a borough of London located approximately 30 minutes outside of downtown London.
Today, a special announcement was disclosed regarding the upcoming supercon LeakyCon 2012, which is taking place in Chicago, IL from August 9th to 12th. One year ago today Team StarKid presented A Very StarKid Event at LeakyCon 2011. To say it was a highlight for a lot of our conference-goers is like saying that Hufflepuffs are just okay at finding things. At this LeakyCon, they are determined to outdo themselves. We are thrilled to tell you that Team StarKid will present another staged reading!
We are in need of a new eye-catching banner for MuggleSpace – MuggleNet’s own social network much like facebook – and today we would like to call on all of you for submissions.
For information on the submission details, and rules of the contest, check out the main page of MuggleSpace. The banner should include some original Fan Art depicting anything from characters to Hogwarts scenery – it’s really up to you. But know that your banner will be seen by many online, including MuggleSpace’s member community currently 40,000 strong.

To give you a glimpse of what’s going on at MuggleNet Interactive, we are turning the spotlight on two exciting events over on our boards. First off, we are hosting a unique way to determine who is the best Harry Potter character. Also, as we previously reported, we will soon be marking the fifth anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Harry Potter star Dan Radcliffe has chosen his next role, and this time it’s another fantasy film, but nothing like Harry Potter. Dan will play the lead role in an adaptation of Joe Hill’s (son of Stephen King) book, Horns. As for Emma Watson: Noah director, Darren Aronofsky, is in the middle of building the massive set of Noah’s ark on Long Island, New York, and will be holding open casting calls for extras Saturday.
Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint will be running with the Olympic Torch as it makes its way to London for the Opening Ceremonies. Rupert revealed the info while being interviewed by RupertGrint.net on the set of his new movie, CBGB, where he plays The Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome.
