Using a vegetable peeler, peel away the green rind of the watermelon. Leave the inner white rind intact.
Cut off the bottom of the melon to keep it from rolling.
Use a toothpick to outline squiggling crevices to mimic the folds of the outside of the brain
Use a sharp paring knife to carve along the toothpick tracings to show the inner pink melon.
