Emma Thompson lends helping hand with children’s ballet production of “Nanny McPhee”

London Children’s Ballet is a charitable trust that has been running for 20 years and gives children from all backgrounds, ages 9-16, the chance to learn, perfect, and perform the art of ballet. Their latest production will be based on the Nanny McPhee films, which starred Emma Thompson (Sybill Trelawney) as the title character.
The company unfortunately did not have the funds to gain the rights for said production, but Thompson kindly agreed to help out with the show, with the backing of Universal Studios. Find out why.

Imelda Staunton and husband Jim Carter appointed as patrons for garden charity

Real life married couple Imelda Staunton OBE (Dolores Umbridge) and Downton Abbey’s Jim Carter have recently become patrons of the charity Greenfingers. This particular charity specializes in “creating magical gardens in children’s hospices across the UK.” Greenfingers is currently partaking in a project called the Rosy Cheeks Appeal, aiming to raise money to fund for at least 10 more gardens.

National Doodle Day involves a charity auction that comprises doodles drawn by celebrities in order to raise funds and awareness for Epilepsy Action. The event raises money to help support the 600,000 people across the UK with epilepsy. This year, there are several celebrities who appeared in the Harry Potter film series who have drawn for the auction.
