Role Call: Searching, Singing, and Suffering – HP Cast Does it All!

by Aimee Krenz · June 5, 2014

The first pictures from the set of Suffragette filming have been released, showing Helena Bonham Carter alongside co-star Carey Mulligan. The pair appear to be at a rally for women’s right to vote. The movie also stars Brendan Gleeson. You can view the still from the production below:

Helena’s previous project, The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet, will open the Munich Film Festival at the end of this month, with director Jean-Pierre Jeunet in attendance for the premiere.

In addition to appearing at a children’s library and having the first substantial trailer for Hercules released this week, actor John Hurt can also be seen in a video for “England’s Going Out (…To Do It Again)”, a song created for the World Cup. The song, written by Omid Djalili, is meant to be the Fans’ Football Anthem to support the England team and was released for purchase on iTunes Monday. You can view the video below:

Filming has begun in Jerusalem for the new six-part television drama, Dig. The series stars Jason Isaacs as a detective attempting to solve the murder of an archaeologist on a dig in Jerusalem but instead finds himself embroiled in conspiracy. To learn more about the role Isaacs will play, check out our previous post on the project.

Finally, enigmatic television host and comedian Stephen Fry, best known to fans as the voice of the Harry Potter audiobooks in the U.K., will moderate a Q&A with Al Pacino on September 21st at the British Film Institute Southbank complex. The event, now sold out, will allow attendees to view both Salome and Wilde Salome back to back prior to the Q&A. The Q&A portion of the event will also be broadcast live via satellite to cinema viewers across the U.K. and Ireland.

Did You Know

So many fans visit King’s Cross Station to take pictures of Platforms 9 and 10 that the station management erected a sign that says “Platform 9 3/4,” which, in the Harry Potter books, is invisible to Muggles but acts as a gateway for witches and wizards.

Potter History

January 20, 2010 – It is confirmed that Alexandre Desplat will compose the music for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.

Potter Quote

“She stopped you killing me. And I’ve seen the real you, I saw you last year. You’re a wreck. You’re barely alive. That’s where all your power got you. You’re in hiding. You’re ugly, you’re foul —”
