MinaLima is composed of Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, who designed and created the graphic universe of the Harry Potter films. In 2009, they formed their own design studio, naming it MinaLima. They have continued their involvement in the Harry Potter franchise with numerous design commissions for the Wizarding World, including creating the graphic elements for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Orlando Resort. In 2015, MinaLima began to design the graphic props for the Fantastic Beasts series. The following year, Mina and Lima launched House of MinaLima – a gallery and store that showcases their graphic works – first in London and then in other locations worldwide.

In The Magic of MinaLima, readers find two decades' worth of insight into the creative process as well as some fun interactive elements. The book covers iconic artifacts from the Harry Potter films such as the Marauder's Map and the Black family tapestry. It allows readers a closer look at smaller details such as the butterbeer labels used in different countries for the Fantastic Beasts films. There are also fun stories from the set of the films, like the time they had to rush to remake the Hogwarts letters because they were too heavy for the owls to carry.
