Role Call: The Last MuggleNet Role Call of 2013!

by Aimee Krenz · December 25, 2013

Our talented Harry Potter alumni certainly have been busy this past year, and while there are only a few more days left in 2013, the stars are still hard at work. For the last time in 2013, it’s MuggleNet Role Call!

Jessie Cave (Lavendar Brown) brings you Christmas greetings! The actress performs a few Christmas carols with some friends in this comedic YouTube video, “Carollers.” Enjoy by watching above!

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) continues to expand upon her filmmaking career as a director, filming a music video for Nowness. The star tweeted her excitement about the video being published on the Nowness website.

What an exciting day! My first music video with @sophielowelowe is premiering on @NOWNESS go watch on http://t.co/xHq6fCaL8X

— Bonnie Wright (@thisisbwright) December 17, 2013

The video stars Once Upon a Time in Wonderland actress Sophie Lowe, who both wrote and sings the song for the video, Riding Solo, which you can view here. Bonnie also explains her creative process:

My film concepts always begin with the particular emotion I am trying to evoke, say the sadness of loss. I then collect references [and] inspiration and write lots of disjointed sentences from light directions and thoughts to actual dialogue. Then the way I work with my crew is very collaborative; I need them to be as emotionally invested as [I].

Another poster for The Grand Budapest Hotel, starring Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), has been released, featuring photos of the cast in the form of hotel keys. You can view the poster here. In addition, Fiennes can be seen on December 30 when he visits the ladies of The View to talk about his film, The Invisible Woman. Check your local listings for showtimes.

Jamie Campbell Bower (young Gellert Grindelwald) has been named one of the new faces for Burberry’s English Rose collection for the 2014 spring/summer campaign. You can check out some of the spoiler photos for the coming collection here.

Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) may be waiting to find out if she will win the Golden Globe for her role as Elizabeth Taylor in the mini-series Burton & Taylor, but she’s still keeping her eye out for other roles. According to a report from Variety, the star is currently in talks to join the historic drama Sufferagette with actress Carey Mulligan. The film is based on real-life events and follows “soldiers of the early feminist movement: women who were forced underground in a dangerous game of cat and mouse.”

For those MuggleNet fans who have access to ITV and CITV, make sure you check out a special reading of Dustbin Dad, airing on December 26 and December 28. You might recognize the narrator of the story – Warwick Davis (Filius Flitwick/Griphook) who recently participated in MuggleNet’s holiday video and will be joining Bookaboo to read the story by Peter Bently and Russell Ayto. The actor also tells Expose Entertainment that his children give him critical feedback for his roles.

As an actor I often have scripts at home to rehearse, and yes, I will perform them out loud for the kids and just see what they think. They’re my fiercest critics sometimes but then again my biggest supporters as well.

New images for Gary Oldman‘s (Sirius Black) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have been released only days after the official trailer was made available. The images further highlight the intensity of the trailer, evoking a sense of unease. The three up-close images of the major stars of the film, including Oldman, can be seen here.

Well, that’s it for 2013 casting news. We can’t wait to see what our favorite cast get up to in the new year. Bring on 2014!
