Social Roundup: Beauty, Beast, Books and Blondes

by Kevin Assam · March 8, 2015

This week saw the unveiling of some pretty exciting news relating to the casting of Beauty and the Beast and the reveal of Warner Bros. Tours London latest expansion.

WB Tours London got things rolling by announcing their Hogwarts Express/Platform 9 3/4 expansion which was attended by Mark Williams (Mr. Weasley).

Next up was Emma’s welcoming of the recently cast “Beast” and “Gaston”.

Not to be outcovered by other stories, the annual World Book Day celebrations in the UK and Ireland kicked off with equal fanfare, within which J.K Rowling was more than happy to participate!

Happy #WorldBookDay everyone! I'm celebrating by writing a book.

...with a little joke.

Why has Percy Weasley got his arm around Narcissa Malfoy? Find out in my new… kidding. I'M KIDDING. #NotAPrequel pic.twitter.com/ZZ6HJZrDY3

She did however make abundantly clear her love for adorable cosplayers.

Bonnie Wright kept all these festivities in balance with her work for Peace One Day.

But it was a fashion statement that delivered this week’s dose of humor, along with a quick double take of the Malfoys. Draco (Tom Felton) thought it was his doppelganger…

So apparently Kanye has a Draco fetish….#muse

 …who also stood him up.

Kim K stood me up. Outnumbered by 3 Weasleys. Ugh.

But there were some who thought otherwise…

“@heatworld:Everyone thinks that Kim Kardashian looks like Draco Malfoy. We think it’s more Lucius. pic.twitter.com/qHmhHjvQQl” @jasonsfolly — Viv (@athornedrose_) March 5, 2015

…such as Mr. Lucius Malfoy (Jason Isaacs).

I think you’ll find son, that he’s after Lucious Lucius“@TomFelton: So apparently Kanye has a Draco fetish….#musehttps://t.co/EQidBZvwZN” — Jason Isaacs (@jasonsfolly) March 5, 2015

Which led him to wonder about the current location of his wig…

Seriously though. I wondered where my wig went. Lucius had some good work done… pic.twitter.com/0xFPY6AqMS — Jason Isaacs (@jasonsfolly) March 5, 2015

…until he was finally reassured.

.@jasonsfolly never fear, we have your wig on display at Warner Bros. Studio Tour! It seems Lucius is a trend setter! pic.twitter.com/wMcH54MJv4 — WB Tour London (@wbtourlondon) March 6, 2015

It’s high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the ‘Dementor’ layout), the polls (I actually voted in the ‘Who’s the Half-Blood Prince?’ one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)… pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you.

Potter Quote

“You’ve picked the losing side, Potter! I warned you! I told you you ought to choose your company more carefully, remember? When we met on the train, first day at Hogwarts? I told you not to hang around with riffraff like this!”
