Social Roundup: Malala, Cats, and John Lewis Adverts

by Sophie Reid · November 8, 2015

After the excitement of Halloween last week, it seems that many of our Potter stars have been rather quiet online this week, and so it’s a mixed bag of highlights this week, ranging from cat pictures to Christmas adverts.

The inspiration of the week comes from Emma Watson, who interviewed Malala at the Into Film Festival.

Today I met Malala. She was giving, utterly graceful, compelling and intelligent. That might sound obvious but I was…

It’s not just that I love Malala -the documentary is genuinely emotional, insightful, suspenseful, inspiring- in and of itself.@MalalaFund

Beautifully shot.. Intimate.. All those good things. If you’ve seen it already tell me your favourite parts! X #HeNamedMeMalala — Emma Watson (@EmWatson) November 6, 2015

Luke Youngblood shared some behind the scenes pictures from Galavant.

Please don’t bother @luke_youngblood and I when we’re at work. We’re very, very busy. #Galavantseason2 #KingsPhone pic.twitter.com/Ul98HPZDEt

While Evanna Lynch shared gorgeous cat portraits.

It’s no surprise that Matt Lewis was once again hanging out at the rugby…

So I just got in big trouble for posting a picture of my mum. My dad called and I think I’m grounded now. Here, have a picture of me in the new @englandrugbyleague shirt instead. Who’s coming with me to the game against New Zealand on Saturday? #WallofWhite A photo posted by Matthew Lewis (@realmattdavelewis) on Nov 4, 2015 at 10:56am PST

And Daniel Radcliffe was busy signing Victor Frankenstein posters on his promo tour.

In other news, the now annual Christmas John Lewis advert was released, causing a wave of emotions to hit social media.

You know it’s Christmas time when the @johnlewisretail ad is out. I’ve gotta say, the best one yet. Totes Emosh ?? — Afshan Azad (@afshan_azad) November 6, 2015

#JohnLewisXmasAd but there’s no penguins… 🙁

— Chris Rankin (@chrisrankin) November 6, 2015

Now all we’re waiting for is the coca-cola ad to be on, and boom, it’s Christmas! #xmas #advert — Afshan Azad (@afshan_azad) November 6, 2015

And finally, J.K. Rowling celebrated Sirius Black’s November birthday by sharing her favorite fan art.

Today seems a very good day to share my favourite fan art of young Sirius with his best friend.

No crying, now. https://t.co/nLwdYADwBq

Thanks Jo, we’re all crying over here…
