Who Wore It Better: Sybill Trelawney or Janis Joplin?

Greetings once again, my fine, magical friends! I am Gilderoy Lockhart, here to deliver your monthly fill of fashion knowledge. Of course, I pride myself on much more than fashion, but Witch Weekly doesn’t need an exceedingly talented potions brewer or dueler, now do they? Of course, I’m told I was quite talented in many areas of advanced magic, but due to unfortunate circumstances, I seem to have lost touch with those particular arts. Talent never truly leaves you, however, so I’m sure that if the need should arise I could easily protect the Witch Weekly headquarters against an attack by Dark wizards or brew a potion to save my editor from any measure of ailments simply by looking within myself. Some of our greatest powers lie not on the inside but on the outside, however, and those are, in my case, most fully intact if not better than ever. I received news this morning that I have once again been nominated for Witch Weekly’s Most Charming Smile Award. The nomination is most humbling of course, but on to another matter of the importance of outward appearances. Let’s look at this month’s “Who Wore It Better?” pairing:

On the left is the Seer Sybill Trelawney, whose claim to fame is making the prediction that set about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named trying to kill babies. On the right is Muggle rock legend Janis Joplin. These ladies have undoubtedly learned the importance of accessorizing. Both favor a trend of multiple necklaces, headscarves, and large, round glasses. Trelawney has thought out of the box and tied her headscarf in the front as opposed to the back, revealing some lovely, silk fringe that frames her face in a way that her hair could never hope to do. Wise decision, Sybill. Joplin has learned how to tame her mane. I wonder what sort of hair care products Muggles use. Both ladies are sporting rather marvelous glasses, but there is something about Joplin’s that are far superior. They are tinted with a most glorious shade of lilac. I must have my assistant locate me a pair of these glasses. Is there anything more beautiful and becoming than lilac? Not everyone is suited for the color, but because both Joplin and I pull it off most magnificently, I proclaim the both of us winners of this week’s “Who Wore It Better.” Until next time, my devoted readers!
