MoM Elections: Rita Skeeter – Blishwick’s Blunder

by Haley Lewis · November 2, 2016

Bianca Blishwick, a pure-blood Ravenclaw, has been rising in the polls because of her radical ideas on how to handle Muggle-born Hogwarts students. She has been openly wary of Muggles and their offspring and has even suggested plans to teach Muggle-born students in their own separate school away from Hogwarts. Cracking down on Muggle relations has seemed to be her mantra this election, that is until her latest scandal, which broke only last week.

Blishwick has reportedly whipped up a few love potions and has been using them for her own personal pleasures. Amortentia, a particularly hard potion to make, does not create real love, but rather lust and obsession. While technically legal, using this potion is usually frowned upon in the wizarding community. Where the real dirt comes in, readers,  is that Mrs. Blishwick did not use the potion on a member of the wizarding community, but on a Muggle! It was discovered when a Ministry official spotted Blishwick out in a Muggle area of London walking hand in hand with a handsome Muggle man who had a loopy grin and a dazed look in his eyes. There is currently no evidence that she exposed any magic to this Muggle or that he realized that she was a witch. For protection, he was given a potion to reverse the effects of Amortentia, and his memory was erased. Blishwick was not willing to give me a comment when I went to get answers, but I can confirm she did attend a formal hearing in the Department of Mysteries. Luckily, I used my journalist powers of persuasion to get a quote from a wizard who was present during the case.

“Candidate Blishwick has not been charged, but was given a warning to not use potions on unsuspecting Muggles in the future.”

He also told me the details that Mrs. Blishwick was controlling the man with the potion for almost seven weeks and that she had rented out a Muggle hotel room for him to visit her in. The rest of the man’s information was not disclosed for privacy reasons, which of course, I am well known for always respecting.

So much for Blishwick’s hard stance on Muggles! It seems to me that she sure enjoys cozying up to them! I suspect that her surge among pure-blood voters will soon be declining once this news hits the public. Let’s see if Blickwick’s famous Ravenclaw wit can get her out of this political mess!

As always, I’m dedicated to getting the truth to all my avid readers! For the Daily Prophet, I’m Rita Skeeter, signing off!
