The awards keep on coming for Alfonso Cuarón. After the release of his new film, “Gravity,” Cuarón has been named Best Director by the LAFCA, Visionary of the Year 2013 by GQ, and both the film and Cuarón have been nominated for a total of four Golden Globes. Per a press release from the Visual Effects Society, Cuarón will once again be honored for his work on “Gravity” and in recognition of his film career.
As 2013 draws to a close, Amazon published their Best-Selling Books of 2013 list. In a recent press release, the Editorial Director of Books and Kindle at Amazon, Sara Wilson, compared last year’s most popular books in the contemporary romance genre to this year’s hottest releases in the mystery and thriller genres.
The first official trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, starring Gary Oldman, has been released. As we reported yesterday, four posters for the film were made public, along with the announcement that the trailer would be revealed today.
Luckily for all of the “Harry Potter” fans out there, our favorite cast members are a talented lot and are very much in demand for new projects gracing the screen and stage.
Just yesterday, we posted the nominations for this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards. In a press conference this morning, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, a complete list of the 71st annual Golden Globe nominees were revealed.
As a part of their “Film Features” section, BAFTA has released a Life in Pictures interview with Jim Broadbent (Horace Slughorn). In the interview, Broadbent reflects on how he got started in theater, his BAFTA-nominated role in the film “Topsy-Turvy,” his work in comedic films, and what draws him to any given role.
