Want to be a part of something special? We are a collaboration of Wizarding World fans passionate about making MuggleNet the best source of news and information on the Web. We serve a diverse community of fans and want our volunteers and content to reflect this. If you are not interested in a staff position but would like to submit an editorial to be featured on the site, please visit our “Letters to the Editor” page. MuggleNet is proud of its geographic diversity, and while 40% of staff identify as LGBTQIA+, we are predominantly made up of White women. We are particularly interested in amplifying the voices of individuals who fall outside this category.

We’re looking to recruit highly dedicated, hard-working volunteers to join the MuggleNet team who exhibit the following characteristics:

MuggleNet: Graphic Designer

If you're a master at Illustrator and Photoshop, we want you on the MuggleNet team! We are looking for 2–3 creative wizards who are interested in working across all the teams on MuggleNet to create eye-catching graphics and campaigns. Our Designers have been published on media outlets across the web and in print, including Newsweek and London Time Out Magazine.

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Intermediate/Master of Adobe Suite, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Up to date with modern trends and treatments
  • Able to work in a timely fashion and meet strict deadlines
  • Self-starter (does not need to be asked to do something)
  • Excellent teamwork skills, good communicator
  • Listens to constructive criticism and does not take edits/notes personally
  • Highly organized, works closely with teams to keep projects cataloged
  • Knowledge/Use of Google Drive and/or Dropbox (preferred)
  • Time commitment varies, but you should expect a minimum of 8–10 hours per month

MuggleNet: Marketing Assistant

Are you interested in working with global brands and partners? Does the idea of connecting to others via social media excite you? Then this position just might be for you. MuggleNet is looking for 2-4 Marketing Assistants, who will work directly with our Senior Marketing Manager on giveaways and promotions. This role will require 8–12 hours of time each month.

Our ideal candidates will embody the following:

Ability to be available at a moment's notice - lots of spare time and flexibility to dedicate to achieving perfection
Experienced with all major social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), including the ability to post in real-time as well as scheduling ahead
MUST BE detail-oriented, including but not limited to vigilance with checking images to ensure they are crisp and clean; making sure tags for partner outlets are correct; clicking links and embedded videos to ensure functionality
Communicative, reaches out to and works with coordinators and other team members to set realistic expectations of projected post schedules
Witty, funny, captivating social media commentary to capture our followers' attention for promotions and reviews/giveaways is a plus
Keen awareness of recognizing something that needs to be changed or updated; feels comfortable in stepping forward and taking the lead in offering suggestions on how to fix or ways to improve going forward.

MuggleNet: Social Media - Facebook Representative

MuggleNet is looking for 4 passionate Wizarding World fans to help promote MuggleNet on Facebook in new, creative, innovative ways. You MUST have worked on a Facebook page in the past, or have a degree/taken classes in social media marketing. This role will require 6–7 hours of time each month.

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Intermediate experience with Facebook page management
  • Creativity! Humor! Sass!
  • Able to work in a timely fashion and meet strict deadlines
  • Always working ahead of schedule, never at the last minute
  • Good communication skills
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Highly organized
  • Self-starter (does not need to be asked to do something)

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Able to work in a timely fashion and meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of social media schedulers, such as Buffer
  • Always working ahead of schedule, never at the last minute

MuggleNet: Social Media Video Creator

Do you check your TikTok constantly? Do ideas for your Reels come to you at all hours of the day (and night)? If you have experience with phone-based video creation and editing, MuggleNet wants you for the position! This role will require 7–8 hours of time each month.

We are seeking 3–5 candidates to join our team. Think you're right for the position?

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • CREATIVE! Forward thinker! Hysterical.
  • Supportive team player
  • Able to take constructive criticism
  • Keen interest to grow as a creator
  • Be willing to take on a challenge

MuggleNet: Video Producer

Do you watch every single video that comes across your Facebook timeline? Do you follow a ton of YouTubers? Do you ever think to yourself, "I could do that!" If you have experience with long-form video creation and editing, MuggleNet wants you for the position! This role will require 7–8 hours of time each month.

We are seeking 3–5 candidates to join our Creative Team. Think you're right for the position?

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • CREATIVE! Forward thinker! Hysterical.
  • Supportive team player
  • Able to take constructive criticism
  • Keen interest to grow as a producer and editor
  • Be willing to take on a challenge

MuggleNet: Creative Editorialist

Do you have a passion for the Wizarding World fandom that is rivaled by few? Enjoy writing in your free time and want to combine that love with a little magic? Then a position on the MuggleNet Creative Team might be for you! MuggleNet is looking for passionate Wizarding World fans to help create fun, eye-catching content for Potterheads around the globe. From blogitorials and listicles to editorials and creative writing, if you have an innovative mind that never shuts off, we want you! Editorialists are required to write two posts per month.

We are seeking 3–4 candidates to join our Creative Team. Think you're right for the position?

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Have excellent written knowledge of American English
  • Be available 23/7 - in other words, lots of spare time
  • Some experience with WordPress
  • Supportive team player
  • Able to take constructive criticism

MuggleNet: News - Journalist

MuggleNet is seeking 3 volunteers to join our News Team. As the #1 Wizarding World Resource Since 1999, MuggleNet is an important and reliable source of Wizarding World news for fans around the globe. Our journalism coverage includes Fantastic Beasts, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, updates on film cast and crew members, and so much more! If you love writing, love seeking out the next story or scoop, and want to combine that love with a little magic, we need you!

Journalists are required to write a minimum of six posts per month. This role will require approximately 5–6 hours of time each month. Think you're right for the position?

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Vast knowledge of and interest in all aspects of the Harry Potter fandom and Fantastic Beasts series
  • Excellent knowledge of written English
  • Regularly available, lots of spare time

MuggleNet: News - Quidditch Correspondent

Do you have a passion for Muggle quidditch that is rivaled by few? Enjoy writing in your free time and want to combine that love with a little magic? Then a position as MuggleNet's Quidditch Correspondent might be for you! MuggleNet is looking for 1–2 volunteers who are passionate about Harry Potter and Muggle quidditch to help report on the activities of the ever-expanding sport and the various leagues around the world.

This role will require 4–5 hours of time each month. Think you're right for the position?

We need someone who exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Vast knowledge of and interest in all aspects of Muggle quidditch, including the rules, teams, regions, and tournament format
  • Excellent knowledge of written English
  • Supportive team player
  • Able to take constructive criticism
  • Self-starter (does not need to be asked to do something)
  • Able to work in a timely fashion, meet strict deadlines, and follow up on commitments

Enjoy reading really old theories and news stories as well as keeping up with breaking news*? Then a position on the MuggleNet Content Team might be for you! MuggleNet is looking for passionate Wizarding World fans to help our website remain functional and up to date as well as serve as a comprehensive historical record. This role will require 5–6 hours of time each month.

We are seeking 6 candidates to join our Content Team. Think you’re right for the position?

Our ideal candidates will…

  • Have some experience with WordPress
  • Know, or be willing to learn, basic HTML code
  • Be comfortable conducting research on the Web and Internet archives
