Screen Actors Guild Award nominations announced: “Potter” nearly absent

The nominations for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have just been announced and fans of the Harry Potter series will be disappointed once again with the lack of acknowledgements.

The Screen Actors Guild Awads show will be held via simulcast live from the Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen Theater in Hollywood, California on Sunday, January 29, 2012, on TNT and TBS networks at 8:00 p.m. EST/5:00 p.m. PST.

Of the top industry accolades presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards are selected solely by their peers. Two nominating panels – one for film and one for television – each composed of 2,100 randomly selected Guild members from across the United States, chose this year’s actor and stunt ensemble honors nominees.
