Fan Art of the Week: “Dobby”

Our next piece of Fan Art is titled, ‘Dobby‘ and it comes to us from Rebecca. The drawing was done in colored pencils, and the full image of the piece can be viewed right here.

Noah’s Notes: Fans everywhere can recognize this picture of Dobby from a notable movie poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. Personally, I find the close up shot Rebecca chose to draw very interesting – the use of colored pencils as a creative medium was also an interesting choice. The artist formed Dobby’s face by mixing line after line of colored pencil – a technique most expertly articulated in the nose if you take a close look at it. Though we don’t see a lot of his face, Dobby’s expression of solemn fear is very clear, and revealed in his eyes as well as the encroaching darkness in the background. Great job Rebecca.
