US rights for “Horns” acquired by Dimension, RADiUS-TWC

Horns, starring Daniel Radcliffe, has been acquired for US distribution by Dimension and RADiUS-TWC. The deal comes a month after the film premiered to acclaim at the Toronto Film Festival. According to Deadline, the multi-million dollar deal was one of the largest made for a TIFF film and has been underway since the end of the festival.

Bob Weinstein, chief of Dimension, said of the deal,

I enjoyed working with [Horns director] Alex Aja on Piranha 3D. I think he’s made a masterful film in Horns, and I’m thrilled to continue our relationship.

Co-presidents of RADiUS Tom Quinn and Jason Janego were also pleased with the deal, saying,

[Horns is] a devillish wild ride. Visionary director Alexandre Aja delivers one of the coolest and most daring genre titles we’ve seen in quite some time. While Daniel Radcliffe’s flawless turn as ‘IG’ is sure to go down as one of the great anti-heroes of all time. We couldn’t be more excited to work with Alexandre, Joe, Riza, Joey and Cathy on this terrific film.

No official theatrical premiere date has been set, but the distributors are hoping for a 2014 release.

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
