MuggleNet at LeakyCon: Podcast, panel, and the BIGGEST GIVEAWAY EVER
It’s that time of year again, folks – LeakyCon time! One of the nerdiest, fandomiest (?), electric, RIDICULOUS BEST WEEKENDS of the entire year. We at MuggleNet are big fans of LeakyCon and have always been excited to not only attend as fans but also to bring fun and exciting panels as the world’s #1 Harry Potter website! This year (if we may brag for a moment), as LeakyCon returns to Orlando, we have gone above and beyond and are bringing LeakyCon goers something, well, magical.
PROGRAMMING
This year MuggleNet is bringing not one, but two great panels!
First up, on Saturday at 11 a.m., our global reread Alohomora! is holding its third live LeakyCon show! The podcast, which is known across the world and fandom for its in-depth discussion (not to mention the ONLY Harry Potter podcast featuring a FAN guest host every. single. week.) is bringing a topic close to their heart to life:
The World inside Her Head: JKR & the Expanded Potter Canon
How JKR revisits the Harry Potter story and how we respond to it
Join hosts Caleb, Kat, Laura, Noah, Eric, and Michael as they delve into the depths of the Potter fandom, past, present, and future. Explore topics such as how the media covers and responds to Harry Potter news, questions like “Should JKR just STOP?” (YES! NO! YES! NO!), and so much more! There may or may not even be a pizza party planned for afterward…
A long time in the making, our huge MuggleNet, the Fandom, and YOU! panel is happening on Sunday at 10 a.m. Join MuggleNet staff members Keith, Kat, Eric, Tina, Claire, Terrance, and moderator Caleb as they share memories, funny stories, and experiences from their time as Harry Potter fans. Attendees are encouraged to join in and share their own stories – as well as their hopes for the future of the Potter fandom!
Which brings us to our…
VIDEO DIARY AND VENDOR BOOTH
This year is the seventh anniversary of the release of Deathly Hallows. LeakyCon starts on Harry and Jo’s birthday (or Neville’s, if you count OatC). The Potter fandom grows every year, bigger and bigger. Memories are shared time and time again, from around the globe. But are they being cataloged? No, not really. Well, not for long.
Aside from the fun merch MuggleNet always has, this year our vendor booth is hosting a video diary station. We will be asking fans to answer one of four questions and record their answer on video. The videos will then be compiled into… something very special. The video diary station will be open whenever the vendor room is, so please stop by to share your stories with us. After all, “words are, in [Dumbledore’s] not so humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic.”

We saved the best for last!

MuggleNet’s ConQuest is essentially a picture quest and scavenger hunt. There are 55 tasks and depending on the prize pack you want to win, a varying number that needs to be completed. There are smaller prize packs for Friday and Saturday and the grand prize pack for those attending the entire weekend. To enter, starting Thursday immediately after opening ceremonies through Saturday afternoon, drop by the MuggleNet vendor table and pick up one of the game forms.
