Arguably the most book-centric week of the year has come and gone! Together, Book Expo America and BookCon comprised five days full of books, authors, and… well, books.
For just the second year in a row, BookCon – a convention for readers to geek out over all things literary – was open to the public, and it was a roaring success! Fans lined up as early as 5 a.m. Saturday morning to wait in line for entrance into New York’s Javits Center, which let attendees inside the building at 8:30 a.m. Once inside, there was still over an hour to wait before fans could either enter the show floor or receive a wristband for one of the high-profile panels (like John Green or Mindy Kaling!). And even though that was an awful lot of waiting… it was all worth it once BookCon officially began!
I think it’s fair to say that BookCon attendees made out like bandits, walking away laden down with Advanced Reader Copies, books signed by their favorite authors, tote bags, and swag of all kinds. If you love reading, there’s only one place you’ll want to be next May – at BookCon 2016!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
