Top Five Parental Figures in the “Potter” Series

In honor of Parents’ Day, I thought I’d look at some of the best parental figures in the series. Some of these characters are actual parents, while others adopt this role. Regardless, the following individuals loved and cared for Harry like a parent would.

Molly

Molly loved Harry and treated him like he was one of her own. She became his surrogate mother in the wizarding world and did everything she could for Harry. She was kind to him and tried to protect Harry, just like his own mother would have.

Hagrid

Although not an actual parent, he loved and cared for Harry like one. Not only did he introduce Harry into the wizarding world, but he was always there for him too. While at Hogwarts, Hagrid did everything he could to make Harry comfortable, including being there for advice.

Sirius

Even though they only knew each other for a short time, there is no doubt that they loved each other. When Harry realized that Sirius was innocent, he envisioned a life full of love with him. Unfortunately, this plan never came to fruition, but Harry discovered he had a family.

Lily

She sacrificed herself in an effort to protect him from Voldemort. Lily’s love for him followed him throughout the series and shielded him from Voldemort again and again. Tragically, she would never see Harry grow up, but she did what she could to ensure his safety.

Dumbledore

Despite his questionable decisions, he loved Harry. He tried to prepare him for what he had to do while still protecting him from his other troubles.

What do you think of my list? Are there any figures you would include? Let us know in the comments!
