Wizarding Wednesdays Giveaway Returns Ahead of Release of “Crimes of Grindelwald”

by Bethan Roberts · September 5, 2018

Wizarding Wednesdays have returned for another year! To celebrate the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in the United States and the United Kingdom on November 16, fans have been offered the chance to win some amazing prizes and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

The competition will run for ten weeks with a lucky winner and a new magical prize on offer every Wednesday. That means that ten amazing prizes are up for grabs!

The first prize is none other than the chance to walk on the red carpet at the London premiere of the film. The winner may even get the chance to rub shoulders with the main cast, including Eddie Redmayne, Alison Sudol, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, and maybe even J.K. Rowling herself!

The winner of the second prize will win tickets to see the award-winning play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in the West End at the Palace Theatre and the opportunity to meet members of the cast.

Week 3’s prizewinner will have their own private shopping experience at the famous Platform 9 3/4 shop at King’s Cross station, London. Staff will guide the winner to the famous trolley through the wall before heading to the station’s dedicated Potter shop to create their own personalized trunk! These will include items such as a personalized acceptance letter, a Platform 9 3/4 T-shirt, and a chocolate bundle.

The fourth prize is a signed poster from the cast of Crimes of Grindelwald, a welcome addition to any fan’s collection.

You’ll need your passports ready for the fifth prize because the winner will be taking off to Paris, France, for the Parisian premiere of the film! The winner will not only walk the red carpet but also have a paid two-night stay in the city.

The winner of Week 6 will have the opportunity to experience a Hogwarts Halloween, with a two-course dinner in the famous Great Hall. The event will be inspired by the Dark Arts, but the winner will still enjoy many of the original props and costumes that went into making the films.

The seventh prize will suit anyone who wants to experience the film surrounded by their friends and family since the winner will be able to bring along up to 50 guests to watch the film at the Warner Bros. London private screening room.

The eighth week presents another chance to win tickets to the London premiere and the opportunity to walk along the red carpet. However, the ninth prize will appeal to anyone who loves the props and style of the Potter films. The winner of Week 9 will win an exclusive print by MinaLima, the team behind the graphic style throughout the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films.

However, the final prize of Week 10 is the greatest of all. The competition will culminate with the chance to be an extra in the third film in the Fantastic Beasts series! The winner will win not only a walk-on role in the film but also an exclusive set visit.

While only a few will be able to enjoy these prizes, there are still numerous runner-up prizes on offer such as a MinaLima book, Crimes of Grindelwald regional premiere tickets, and Harry Potter: A History of Magic audiobooks.

You must be a UK resident to enter the competition. If you are, all you need to do is input your details here to be entered into the prize draw.

It’s high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the ‘Dementor’ layout), the polls (I actually voted in the ‘Who’s the Half-Blood Prince?’ one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)… pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you.
