Seven “Harry Potter” Universe Spin-offs I Want to See
Over the past several years, the Harry Potter universe has grown extensively. Both Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child introduced us to many new characters and reintroduced us to ones we were already familiar with. Considering these additions, the number of potential narratives and spin-offs we could get is immense. Below are the top seven I want to see.
Newt, Leta, and Theseus
We saw glimpses of their past and present relationships during Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, but I would like to know more. What drew Leta to Theseus romantically instead of Newt? What was the relationship between the brothers like before and after Leta? What attracted Theseus toward a career as an Auror?
Queenie and Tina’s History
Queenie and Tina have a strong bond in the Fantastic Beasts movies that came about from their parents’ deaths. What were their childhoods like before this loss? It appears that No-Maj and wizard relationships in America were different than in the United Kingdom, but were there any other differences when these sisters were growing up? How different was Ilvermorny from Hogwarts?
Draco Malfoy’s 19 Years Later
Draco Malfoy developed a lot during the 19-year jump in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but what exactly happened between the end of the Battle of Hogwarts and the epilogue? How did he meet Astoria? What was his relationship with his parents like?
Professor McGonagall
Now that she is in the Fantastic Beasts films, which disputes what was previously canon, it will be interesting to see her story before the Harry Potter series starts.
The Original Order
The Order of the Phoenix during Voldemort’s first reign was powerful and complicated. There were so many characters we never fully explored, like Neville’s parents and Aberforth Dumbledore. It would be great to see that played out one day.
Hermione’s Childhood
We know from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone that some weird things happened to Harry when his powers emerged. Hermione’s intellect and personality isolated her from her peers when she first started Hogwarts; did the same thing happen to her at Muggle school?
Dobby
Not much of Dobby’s life before Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is known, and it would be nice to see what happened to one of the bravest characters in the Potter universe. Presumably, his life was terrible before he was free, but what exactly did he go through to make him hopeful and optimistic in bettering himself? Did he meet any kind wizards before meeting Harry and his friends?
There is so much material to explore in the Potter universe; I hope that we will get to see some of it in the future. What do you think? What spin-offs would you like to see?
