“SpeakBeasty” Episode 165: “It’s Not Credence O’Clock Yet”

Don’t we all have a clock that shows the face of our long-lost nephew? The hosts of SpeakBeasty discuss that and much more on the latest episode.

Hosts Amy, Ann, Geoff, and Shannen are diving into yet another section of scenes from the Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore film. In this episode, our hosts cover scenes 41 through 44 in the screenplay. These scenes cover Dumbledore giving Newt visitation papers to the Erkstag wizard prison and Bunty commissioning duplicates of Newt’s suitcase from a man with a fabulous mustache.

When Dumbledore opens his pocketwatch, an image of Credence is reflected on its surface. Is this a tool to see the future? Is it an echo back to the Weasley clock and a way to keep track of Dumbledore family members? This moment brings us both our episode title and our podcast question this week.

This week’s podcast question is “How do you think Dumbledore’s pocketwatch showing a vision of Credence works? What is its purpose?” Send us your thoughts and theories at SpeakBeasty@gmail.com, or reach out to us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

I was 9 years old when I discovered the magic that is “Harry Potter.” I am a proud Hufflepuff and exceedingly good at eating, reading, being sarcastic, and over-thinking small tasks. Since I spent too much time worrying about the correct way to write this bio, this is all I was able to come up with before the deadline.
