REVIEW: Ron Weasley Sixth Scale Figure by Star Ace Toys Ltd. from Sideshow Collectibles

It’s time, once again, for another product review: the Ron Weasley sixth scale figure by Star Ace Toys Ltd. from Sideshow Collectibles! The figure was furnished by Sideshow for the purpose of this review and shows the same wonderful attention to detail as the two other figures that I have reviewed from this series, Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.

FROM THE BOX

Like the figures before it, Ron comes with a number of props. Because the figure is based off of Sorcerer’s Stone Ron, these props are all recognizable from the first film. The box itself has a wizard chess theme:

THE FIGURE

The Ron Weasley figure is very similar to the Harry Potter figure that I previously reviewed. While the photos of the figure from the Sideshow website make Ron’s nose appear to have more of a hooked appearance, this isn’t the case with the actual figure. Personally, I consider that to be an improvement because he looks much more like Rupert Grint. Here’s a closer look:

Ron comes wearing his Gryffindor uniform, which includes a shirt, a tie, a pair of black trousers, a Gryffindor pattern knitted sweater, a Gryffindor black wizard robe, a pair of socks, and a pair of black shoes.

THE PROPS

As well as his Gryffindor uniform, Ron comes with the maroon Weasley sweater that he receives for Christmas; a wizard chess set; his pet rat, Scabbers; his wand; a broom; and a pair of chicken drumsticks. He also comes with additional, interchangeable hands so that he can interact with his props.

OVERALL

Overall, the Ron Weasley sixth scale figure by Star Ace Toys Ltd. is very impressive. Again fulfilling the promise of an “authentic likeness” of Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, I can’t say that there is anything about this figure with which I found fault. I especially love the fact that the figure depicts Ron as he is shown in the first film because the figure comes with an element of nostalgia.
