MoM Election: Intro

Well, it’s that time of year again. No, not Christmas. It’s time to see who our next Minister of Magic will be. While we are all sad to see our current Minister go, we have an excellent crop of candidates this year, so our next Minister will be just as wonderful. There are three candidates campaigning in this year’s election: William Waverly, Bianca Blishwick, and Reggie Stump.

William Waverly is a proud Hufflepuff who, despite his Muggle-born background, has assured us that he is up the challenge. Waverly had previously made a name for himself in his petition to the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office to allow Muggle items to be enchanted, provided they would only be of use for wizards and witches. There is speculation on whether or not he will continue to push for this revision during his campaign.

Our next candidate is Bianca Blishwick, a charismatic and fashionable witch. Due to her pure-blood upbringing, Bianca was exposed to the politics of the wizarding world at a young age, and now plans to turn that early interest into a career. She is particularly interested in improving education, quite understandable given that she was a Ravenclaw.

Our last candidate came as quite the surprise. Never before has a Squib run for Minister of Magic. Despite many concerns that she might be unqualified for the task, Reggie (Regina) Stump has claimed that she’s more than capable, describing how she studied “political science” at a Muggle “yoonivercity.” She, of course, is campaigning strongly for Squib rights.

William Waverly, Bianca Blishwick, and Reggie Stump: one of these three is our next Minister. So follow along with us and discover who your ideal candidate is. There will be speeches, interviews, and debates.  And don’t forget to vote come election time, starting November eighth!
