Daniel Radcliffe Is Honored to Talk to You About “Harry Potter”

Most, if not all, of us know how incredibly popular the Harry Potter franchise is. Thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds loved following the story of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and their adventures left footprints on all of our hearts. There are countless parodies, spoofs, and reimaginings of an already vast and extensive magical world, and although our favorite trio hasn’t even been born during the time that the Fantastic Beasts movies will take place, with each new film, there are references to events that will occur in Harry’s timeline.

So as the actor who portrayed one of the most beloved wizards of all time, it could be assumed that the role came with a lot of pressure and stress. Go anywhere on the planet and someone within his line of sight is most likely going to recognize Daniel Radcliffe walking down the street. As the person who left his role of Harry Potter behind when the series ended and has taken on a number of projects since (like his new comedy series, Miracle Workers), does it get old being asked about his time as Harry during press tours or interviews about new films, or by fans lucky enough to get the opportunity to have a quick chat?

The answer is no. Recalling a past experience, Radcliffe explained why to Entertainment Weekly:

When I was young, I met an old punk who had been in a band that I really liked. So I went up to him and asked him about it, and he literally said, ‘I don’t talk about it’. And that was kind of sad. I thought it would be sad to look back on this huge period of your life and not embrace it. As much as I’m happy to be doing other films now, I’m always genuinely very honored when someone comes up and says, ‘You were a huge part of my childhood.’

Radcliffe also added that he thinks the Harry Potter franchise will probably be rebooted sometime in the future, saying, “I know I’m not the last Harry Potter that I’m gonna see in my lifetime” and that he’d be most excited to explore more about the Marauders era.
