“A Magical Time of Year” Christmas Album Featuring Cast from “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” Available for Preorder

by Hannah Howard · November 25, 2019

Have you ever dreamed of spending Christmas at the Burrow? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to assist Flitwick with Hogwarts holiday decorations? Maybe you’re hoping for a Molly Weasley original sweater under your tree? Well, this exciting news might just give you the gift of magic this Christmas – it’s a magical Christmas album!

This brand-new album, titled A Magical Time of Year, features stars from both Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts singing all your favorite holiday tunes. The songbird stars featured on this album are Thomas Aldridge (Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child London), David Bradley (Argus Filch), Poppy Corby-Tuech (Vinda Rosier), Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski), Michelle Gayle (Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child London), Kevin Guthrie (Abernathy), Chris Jarman (Rubeus Hagrid / The Sorting Hat in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child London), Claudia Kim (Nagini), Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone), William Nadylam (Yusuf Kama), and Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein).

There are so many magical things to look forward to on this album. Among them are Mr. Filch singing “White Christmas” and what is sure to be a dynamic duet between Credence Barebone and Jacob Kowalski. The best part of the collection is the story behind it. The full album title is A Magical Time of Year (Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Artists in Support of Lumos). Lumos is the nonprofit started by J.K. Rowling to help children in orphanages find homes. This album is completely in support of Rowling’s organization, Lumos!

Here is what Warwick Davis, a long-time ambassador of Lumos and the man behind the characters of Professor Flitwick and Griphook, had to say about his time recording this festive album.

I had such fun singing ‘Merry Christmas Everyone,’ a song I’ve loved since the original recording by Shakin’ Stevens. Through your support of this album, you’ll be helping Lumos make a real difference in the lives of children and families, and be adding a little magic to your holidays.

The album is currently available for preorder through Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, and Amazon Music. You can also listen to clips of three songs – Thomas Aldridge’s “What Christmas Means to Me,” Warwick Davis’s “Merry Christmas Everyone,” and Claudia Kim’s “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” Check out the full tracklist below.

  1. What Christmas Means to Me – Thomas Aldridge
  2. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! – Claudia Kim
